Zeenat Aman loves ‘Laila Main Laila’

Yet another one in the occasional Bollywood series of posts. This time it's about the remaking of a "cult Bollywood song". As soon as I saw that I hit youTube and found the original. I can see why it's thought of as a cult song. It has a very big disco influence to the song. if you haven't heard the song, or just want to re live the song, then scroll down to the bottom...

Laila Main Laila -the cult song from the 1980 film "Qurbani" has been re-arranged for the film "Chalo Dilli" as tribute to the gorgeous Zeenat Aman who featured in the original.

Chalo Dilli’s Laila Main Laila ,a more neo-age version of the original, picturised on Yana Gupta has already got a thumps-up from the yesteryear diva who is going all out to extend her support to the song and the film.

Confirms Zeenat Aman “I liked the song when I heard it. They have retained the original version and at the same time have given the song a new flavour. It's got a rustic, ethnic feel and I liked it a lot. So I'm supporting it"

Already topping charts, the song is soon becoming an audience favourite as Yana Gupta adds to the glam quotient.

Yana said "I was extremely excited to do this song because it's fantastic. I'm just honoured to do Zeenatji's song. I think people will like it”

An entertaining, slice of life film that will have you laughing off your seats, Eros International’s Chalo Dilli directed by Shashant Shah of Dasvidaniya fame is a journey which along with the two protagonists showcases the real India and its colorful and funny people with their eccentricities.

Says producer Krishika Lulla “From situational songs to out and out dance numbers each song in Chalo Dilli comes with their unique background, variety and versatility. All the songs have a great feel of movement to them keeping with the theme of the movie”

Chalo Dilli comes to a cinema near you on April 29, 2011.
