Gambit for Children In Need

MOMENTUM PICTURES DONATES ONE-OF-A KIND GAMBIT PAINTING SIGNED BY
COLIN FIRTH, CAMERON DIAZ, ALAN RICKMAN AND TOM COURTENAY TO RAISE FUNDS FOR BBC CHILDREN IN NEED

GAMBIT, starring Colin Firth, Cameron Diaz, Alan Rickman and Tom Courtenay had its World Premiere in London on Wednesday 7 November. As part of the glitzy event, an artist was commissioned to paint a picture live capturing the red carpet action as it happened. The stars of the film then signed the painting, which is now up for sale as part of Pudsey’s annual eBay auction to raise money for BBC Children in Need.

Every penny raised by the auction will go towards making a positive difference to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people right here in the UK.

Momentum Picture will release GAMBIT in the UK and Ireland on 21 November. Private art curator Harry Deane (Colin Firth) devises a finely-crafted scheme to con England's richest man and avid art collector, Lionel Shabandar, (Alan Rickman) into purchasing a fake Monet painting. In order to bait his buyer, he recruits a Texas rodeo queen (Cameron Diaz) to cross the pond and pose as a woman whose grandfather liberated the painting at the end of WWII.

Based on a screenplay by Joel & Ethan Coen and directed by Michael Hoffman, BAFTA award winner Sir Tom Courtenay, Golden Globe winner Stanley Tucci and Academy Award© winner and veteran comedienne Cloris Leachman round out the cast.
