IT’S A SNOW TRAP!

A short time ago on a blog not that far away I posted up a piece about Stormtroopers on Boris’ Bikes in the Waterloo area of London. Now I can show you some images of how they got on trying to capture Stewie.

Tuesday 21 December, London: It wasn’t just commuters and holidaymakers who found themselves stranded in the snow this week. Even Stormtroopers were caught up in the white stuff after their Star Destroyer got snowed in along with a certain diabolical baby from Family Guy!

Those passing by Waterloo South Bank on Tuesday witnessed a group of Stormtroopers stranded in the snow, and to make matters worse they were attacked by none other than Family Guy’s Stewie Griffin, the scheming baby hell bent on world domination who caused havoc on a Boris bike!

The characters were in Central London to celebrate the release of Family Guy It’s A Trap! on Blu-ray and DVD on 27 December 2010, inspired by a scene in which the Stormtroopers pursue Luke Skywalker and co through the Forest of Endor on everyday bicycles instead of their preferred Space Marine Scout Bikes.

Return to the Griffins’ version of that galaxy far, far away as their freakin’ sweet saga continues with “Family Guy: It’s A Trap!” - arriving exclusively on Blu-ray and DVD on 27th December from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. In the third installment of the hilarious Star Wars satire - following 2005’s “Family Guy: Blue Harvest” and last year’s “Family Guy: Something, Something, Something Dark Side“- the Griffins reprise their intergalactic roles in an outrageous retelling of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.
In this spectacular and offensively uproarious final chapter, Luke Skywalker (Chris) and Princess Leia (Lois) must travel to Tatooine to free Han Solo (Peter) by infiltrating the wretched stronghold of Jabba the Hutt (Joe), the galaxy’s most loathsome and dreadful gangster. Once reunited, the Rebels team up with a tribe of Ewoks to combat the Imperial forces on the forest moon of Endor. Meanwhile the Emperor (Carter Pewterschmidt) and Darth Vader (Stewie) conspire to turn Luke to the dark side, and young Skywalker is determined to rekindle the spirit of the Jedi within his father. The Galactic Civil War has never been more outrageous, as the Rebel forces gather to attack the seemingly defenseless and incomplete second Death Star in the battle that will determine the fate of the galaxy.
Adding to the fun, “Family Guy: It’s A Trap!” is loaded with hysterical cameo voice spots - including Patrick Stewart and Michael Dorn reprising their roles from “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” Adam West (“Batman”) and Carrie Fisher (Star Wars Trilogy).

“The fan base for “Family Guy” and Star Wars, both enthusiastic, have embraced the first two hilarious spoofs,” said Mike Dunn, President, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. “Bringing the distinctive storylines together for the trilogy of parodies has been enormously successful and lends itself to create unique home entertainment releases.”

Family Guy It's A Trap!

STORMTROOPERS TAKE OVER BORIS’ BIKES
... FAMILY GUY STYLE!

Sunday 19 December, London: Forget the festive cheer and come over to the Dark Side when Family Guy Stormtroopers take over Boris’ Bikes in the Waterloo area of London this Sunday. If you’re doing some last minute Christmas shopping stop by between 12pm and 2pm and witness the ultimate real-life spoof Star Wars chase featuring the diabolically clever infant, Stewie Griffin.

To celebrate the release of Family Guy It’s A Trap! on Blu-ray and DVD on 27 December 2010 a legion of Scout Troopers and Stormtroopers will be riding Boris’ Bikes across Waterloo Bridge. The iconic London bikes are the perfect way for the environmentally friendly Stormtrooper to get around and if you manage to take a picture of one as they travel around the city email it to familyguytroopers@gmail.com. The best photos will be uploaded to the Family Guy UK Facebook page and the lucky photographers will be sent a copy of Family Guy It’s A Trap! on Blu-ray Triple Play – so be sure to include your name and address with the image.

Family Guy It’s a Trap!, a spoof of Return of the Jedi, includes the iconic scene where Princess Leia (Lois Griffin) and Luke Skywalker (Chris Griffin) chase a group of Scout Troopers through the Forest of Endor. However, rather than being on Imperial Speeder Bikes, the high speed chase takes place on push bikes, rather similar to Boris’.

Why not take a break from the crowds on Oxford Street this Sunday and head down to the river for some Family Guy fun!
