Streetdance 2 gets character posters and a new poster!

Vertigo has just sent over a ton of new stuff for the upcoming Streetdance 2. Not only a new poster. That looks exactly like the teaser one but with a different background. Also, a set of "character posters" to go with it. If you want to make em bigger then just click on em!

Streetdance 2 gets a featurette and poster

Vertigo Films are delighted to announce that the eagerly anticipated follow up to STREETDANCE 3-D will be released nationwide in both 2D and 3D screens on March 30th, 2012. now, with that news out of the way, we have also been sent a new featurette for the film. In this one we have George Sampson talking to the cast as well as showing us some new clips of the film. Then to wrap all the new stuff up, we have also the teaser poster to show you.

Boasting a predecessor that is one of the most successful independent British films ever, STREETDANCE 2 is brought to our screens by the same team behind the camera. The film is directed by the award winning duo Max and Dania and written by Jane English (Sugar Rush). Vertigo’s Allan Niblo and James Richardson have produced. The film was shot on location throughout Europe, including London, Paris, Rome and Berlin.

Falk Hentschel and Sofia Boutella head a diverse cast of new and emerging dance and acting talent, along with returning familiar faces. Having danced on two of Madonna’s world tours (Confessions and Sticky & Sweet), Sofia was most recently seen as the lead in the promotional video for Michael Jackson’s posthumous single release Hollywood Tonight. Falk was last seen on the big screen in the Tom Cruise action thriller Knight & Day.

George Sampson (‘Waterloo Road’) is welcomed back in to a leading role as cheeky guy Eddie, whilst dance troupe Flawless reprise their role as rival dance crew The Surge. Akai (‘Got to Dance’) returns playing Junior, the youngest member of the new crew and distinguished actor Tom Conti (Shirley Valentine) also joins the cast as Manu, Eva’s (Boutella) loving and over-protective Uncle.

Co-funded with the British Film Institute and BBC Films, STREETDANCE 2 3D will be distributed by Vertigo Films in the UK and Ireland.

STREETDANCE 2 3D TO BEGIN PRINCIPAL PHOTOGRAPHY

George Sampson & Flawless returns alongside exciting new actors as StreetDance goes global


16th May 2011, London – Vertigo Films are delighted to announce that principal photography will begin on STREETDANCE 2 3D on 6th June 2011. The film will shoot on location throughout Europe, including London, Paris, Rome and Berlin.

STREETDANCE 2 3D is the highly anticipated follow-up to STREETDANCE 3D, one of the most successful independent British films of recent years. The film sees the return of favourites from the first film, including George Sampson, who won over audiences with his portrayal of cheeky chappie Eddie, and dance troupe Flawless reprise their role as dance crew The Surge.

George comments “I’m very excited about working on STREETDANCE 2 3D, the film is going to be totally amazing. I’m looking forward to playing Eddie again especially as I have more of a central role – I’ll be showcasing some spectacular moves. I also can’t wait to be filming all over Europe in some incredible locations.”

The filmmakers are also excited to announce the casting of Falk Hentschel and Sofia Boutella in the lead roles of Ash and Eva. Co-funded with British Film Institute and BBC Films, STREETDANCE 2 3D will be distributed by Vertigo Films in 2012 in the UK. International sales are being handled by Protagonist Films.
