Find out more about the Green Lantern with a new AR smartphone app!

To celebrate the release of Warner Bros. Pictures’ ‘Green Lantern’ in UK cinemas on 17 June 2011, a new mobile marketing initiative has been launched using state-of-the art handheld AR technology, Zappar, a new free-to-download app available on iPhone and Android devices that brings the physical world to life via your smartphone.

The Zappar app can be used in conjunction with the film’s national six sheet campaign, Odeon Magazine ‘Green Lantern’ cover, The Mirror newspaper’s exclusive ‘Green Lantern’ poster and ShortList Magazine’s cover wrap in the run up to the film’s theatrical release in the UK on Friday 17th June. Users simply download the app and point their phone’s camera at the exclusive film advertising to launch the experience. They can then interact with the campaign, unlocking audio, visual and animated features embedded in the image. The Odeon cover will also feature a pre-booking link for ticket sales from its cover in the run up to the film’s release.

Polly Cochrane, Group Marketing Director and SVP of Marketing Warner Bros Pictures UK commented, “Zappar opens up a whole new way for us to think about our marketing campaigns. Posters become engaging and interactive media channels where we can bring the stories behind our films to life in a truly immersive way.”

Caspar Thykier, Managing Director for Zappar commented, ‘We’re delighted that our first work for our new mobile media channel is with Warner Bros and ‘Green Lantern’. It’s a great showcase for the kinds of experiences made possible with Zappar. However, it’s really just the beginning of how we hope to bring the physical world to life through Zappar in the future. We’re entering a new era of vision based mobile entertainment.’

The Odeon Magazine is out on Friday 27th May and the ‘Green Lantern’ national poster campaign rolls out on Monday 6th June. The Zappar application is available for download at iTunes App Store and Android Marketplace.

For iPhone, iPod and iPad or Android

Bringing the endearingly popular superhero to the big screen for the first time, “Green Lantern” stars Ryan Reynolds (“X-Men Origins: Wolverine”) in the title role, under the direction of Martin Campbell (“Casino Royale”).

In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan.

Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax... he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

‘Spot the X’ at MCM Expo

At this year’s MCM Expo, taking place on the 27th – 29th May 2011, Twentieth Century Fox are giving attendees the chance to win a seat at an exclusive screening of X-Men: First Class.

An official ‘X’ will be hidden somewhere inside MCM Expo, London’s Comic Con, taking place at the Excel, London. If attendees find the ‘X’ they will need to take a picture and upload it to Twitter using the hash-tag #XMENEXPO to be in with a chance of winning.

Once all pictures have been uploaded to Twitter with the correct hash-tag, a winner will be picked at random on the 30th May to attend an exclusive screening in London.
X-MEN FIRST CLASS charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.

Sing the GAME

Normally, when a film is getting close to release, the distributor releases some clip or a featurette. This isn't the case for bollywood films. They release some of the songs and GAME isn't an exception.
The love song from Game ‘MAINE YEH KAB SOCHA THA’ is breaking this week. The song has been composed by Shankar, Ehsaan Loy, lyrics by Javed Akhtar and was shot over 10 days all over Istanbul in scenic locations. The crew left no stone unturned, and went to an old church called Irini. This song pictured on Sarah Jane & Abhishek Bachchan is going to be a visual delight, something truly romantic.
Game is a story of 4 strangers (Neil Menon, OP Ramsay, Tisha Khanna and Vikram Kapoor) who have been invited by the reclusive Kabir Malhotra, to his private island of Samos, Greece.

They don’t know each other and they don’t know him… and by the next morning they will wish they had never come.

Game is a whodunit tale spanning 5 international cities; a slick edge-of-the-seat crime thriller with twists and turns involving love, revenge, retribution and good old-fashioned murder.

Start the Game

I first got information about this film about a month ago. Now Eros has released some information about one of the stars of the film, Sarah Jane Dias.
Now that’s one girl to look out for, ex- Ms. India, Sarah Jane Dias, the debutant actress paired opposite Abhishek Bachchan in the upcoming thriller GAME.

Sarah’s going places even before the release of her debut film. The lissome lass is already romancing Ranbir Kapoor. No, not in a film, but in a Pepsi ad for the upcoming world cup which should be coming out soon.
Sarah stars in Game, a whodunit with twists and turns which also features Abhishek Bachchan, Kangana Ranaut, Jimmy Shergill, Shahana Goswami, Gauhar Khan, Boman Irani and Anupam Kher. The film, a slick edge-of-the-seat thriller has been directed by Abhinay Deo and has dialogues by Farhan Akhtar.
Great going Sarah, surely the one to watch out for!

Slated for release on 1st April, Excel Entertainment’s Game will be released
by Eros International worldwide.

Available in Q1 2011, Yoostar2 is a revolutionary game which uses advanced camera technology of the Kinect for Xbox 360 sensor and the PlayStation®Eye to place players within famous movies and TV scenes. For the very first time, anyone can become part of their favourite movies or TV show, either acting alongside or replacing Hollywood’s biggest stars.

We’re convinced this will be the next social gaming sensation and we’re delighted to have secured the rights to distribute the game throughout Europe.”

“We have no doubt that this fantastic product will capture the imaginations of everyone who sees it,” said Olivier Comte, VP Marketing, Sales & Publishing at NAMCO BANDAI Partners. “Yoostar2 is a brilliantly simple idea, but one that demanded specific advances in gaming technology. Now that technology has arrived and we can’t wait to get the game into people’s hands.”

“To say there has been considerable interest in the distribution rights to Yoostar2 would be an understatement,” added Gregory Fischbach, CEO, Yoostar Entertainment Group. “Almost every major player has been keen to sign the game, but in the end, we felt Namco Bandai’s European muscle won out, and we’re thrilled to be working with them on what will be unquestionably one of the biggest releases of the year.”
Yoostar2 will be released in Q1 2011 for both for Kinect for Xbox 360 and PlayStation®3 Move. Advanced social media features will allow players to share their videos with their friends. Players can stick to the script or create brand new scenes using the game’s hysterical ad-lib feature, which will allow everyone to create personalised content based on some of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters.
