30 Minutes or Less - trailer and images

Sony has just released the first couple of images for the release of Jessie Eisenberg's comedy 30 Minutes or Less.

I've also managed to find the domestic, ie US, trailer but the only one available has "rude words" in it so be careful when you watch it.
Nick is a small town pizza delivery guy whose mundane life collides with the big plans of two wanna-be criminal masterminds. The duo kidnaps Nick and forces him to rob a bank. With only a few hours to pull off the impossible task, Nick enlists the help of his ex-best friend, Chet. As the clock ticks, the two must deal with the police, hired assassins, flamethrowers, and their own tumultuous relationship.

X-MEN: FIRST CLASS - the new trailer

Fox has just sent over the latest, international, trailer for the upcoming X-Men movie. If you haven't seen the new poster then that's just below the new trailer.

Click on the above image to see a larger version
X-MEN FIRST CLASS charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.

Rio Breaks

13-year-old Fabio and 12-year-old Naama live at Favela do Pavao, an enormous slum near Arpoador Beach, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Pavao is home to Commando Vermelho, or Red Command, one of Rio’s most heavily armed drug gangs, who rule the community. Their presence is ubiquitous, with gun-toting “soldiers”, mostly teenagers, patrolling the hills and shooting a warning every time a police car comes into sight.

Raised by illiterate grandparents, Fabio cannot read or write and rarely attends school. He is a prime candidate to become involved in Rio’s drug war. His best friend Naama lives nearby and although brought up on the streets he goes to school and wants to become a sporting champion.

Arpoador Beach is the birthplace of surfing in Brazil and holds some of the best waves in Rio. It’s where the favela kids go to surf to escape from the poverty and violence of the hills. Under the watchful eye of Rogerio, the Favela Surf Club offers a sense of community and belonging away from the hardship of everyday life. Surfing gives the kids a water-bound freedom and a hope that they can become the next world champion.

In Rio surfing can save your life. Can the boys win the next competition and escape a potentially grim future?
The film is directed by Justin Mitchell and hits cinemas on June 3, 2011.

Immortals - First look images and other things

Hollywood. Please, from a film fan, stop making this sort of film and be inventive. You should have learnt from the lackluster reviews and audience number from the remake of Class Of The Titans. However if you make it in 3D (unlike Class where you tried to 3D the film with mixed results) you can charge a lot more per seat and make more money that the film deserves. With that off my chest I can say that this look like a cracking film. It does have a huge Zak Snyder 300 feel to the film after watching the trailer. This can be easily explained as the film "produced from the makers of 300".

Eons after the Gods won their mythic struggle against the Titans, a new evil threatens the land. Mad with power, King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) has declared war against humanity. Amassing a bloodthirsty army of soldiers disfigured by his own hand, Hyperion has scorched Greece in search of the legendary Epirus Bow, a weapon of unimaginable power forged in the heavens by Ares.

Only he who possesses this bow can unleash the Titans, who have been imprisoned deep within the walls of Mount Tartaros since the dawn of time and thirst for revenge. In the king's hands, the bow would rain destruction upon mankind and annihilate the Gods. But ancient law dictates the Gods must not intervene in man's conflict. They remain powerless to stop Hyperion...until a peasant named Theseus (Henry Cavill) comes forth as their only hope.

Secretly chosen by Zeus, Theseus must save his people from Hyperion and his hordes. Rallying a band of fellow outsiders--including visionary priestess Phaedra (Freida Pinto) and cunning slave Stavros (Stephen Dorff)--one hero will lead the uprising, or watch his homeland fall into ruin and his Gods vanish into legend. The 3-D epic adventure Immortals is directed by revolutionary visualist Tarsem Singh (The Cell, The Fall) and produced by Gianni Nunnari and Mark Canton, the producers of 300, as well as Ryan Kavanaugh (Dear John, The Dark Fields).
