From Black and Blue Films, How to Stop Being a Loser follows James (Simon Philips), a chap who is useless with women but finds his luck changes under the tutorage of pick-up artist and womanising guru, Ampersand (Craig Conway). But as James learns the dark art of seduction he begins to wonder if Ampersand is all he appears to be and questions what would truly make him happy in life. Hilarious chaos ensues in this deliciously warm London comedy in the tradition of Four Weddings & A Funeral.

Dominic Burns directs this Brit-comedy which also boasts a fantastic ensemble cast, including Gemma Atkinson, Stephanie Leonidas, Martin Compston, Billy Murray, Colin Salmon, Martin Kemp, Sheridan Smith, Adele Silva, Colin Salmon and Richard E Grant.

John Lasseter gets his own star

Two-time Academy Award®-winning director John Lasseter yesterday [November 1, 2011] received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame from the The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.  In addition to his many and varied feature animation film credits, Lasseter serves as Chief Creative Officer, Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios and Principal Creative Advisor, Walt Disney Imagineering.

Also joining the celebration were Owen Wilson, Brad Paisley, Emily Mortimer, John Ratzenberger, Patton Oswalt, Don Rickles, Randy Newman and Cheech Marin.  Key Disney and Pixar executives in attendance included Studio Chairman Rich Ross, Studio President Alan Bergman, Production President Sean Bailey, Disney and Pixar Animation Studios President Ed Catmull, Pixar General Manager Jim Morris, among many other prestigious guests.

The ceremony for the 2,453th Star took place at 6834 Hollywood Boulevard in front of the El Capitan Theatre with Guest speaker actress Bonnie Hunt – who starred as Sally in Cars and Cars 2.

Lasseter made his feature directorial debut in 1995 with Toy Story; the first-ever-feature-length computer animated film and, since then, has gone on to direct A Bug’s Life, Toy Story 2 and Cars. He returned to the driver’s seat this year, directing Cars 2.

Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy lead an all-star cast in Tower Heist, a comedy caper about working stiffs who seek revenge on the Wall Street swindler who stiffed them. After the workers at a luxury Central Park condominium discover the penthouse billionaire has stolen their retirement, they plot the ultimate revenge: a heist to reclaim what he took from them.

Queens native Josh Kovacs (Stiller) has managed one of the most luxurious and well-secured residences in New York City for more than a decade. Under his watchful eye, nothing goes undetected. In the swankiest unit atop Josh’s building, Wall Street titan Arthur Shaw (Alan Alda) is under house arrest after being caught stealing two billion from his investors. The hardest hit among those he defrauded? The tower staffers whose pensions he was entrusted to manage.

With only days before Arthur gets away with the perfect crime, Josh’s crew turns to petty crook Slide (Murphy) to plan the nearly impossible... to steal what they are sure is hidden in Arthur’s guarded condo. Though amateurs, these rookie thieves know the building better than anyone. Turns out they’ve been casing the place for years, they just didn’t know it.

MACHINE GUN PREACHER is based on the true story of Sam Childers (Gerard Butler in a tour de force performance), a violent, drug-dealing biker whose faith leads him on a path to East Africa, where he finds his true calling as a machine gun-wielding protector of hundreds of refugee children.

Following a brutal incident, Sam’s loyal wife Lynn (Michelle Monaghan) encourages him to turn to God and he resolves to change the course of his life. Renouncing his hell-raising ways, Sam journeys to Sudan as a missionary to help with the relief effort, leaving his best friend Donnie (Michael Shannon) to take care of his wife and daughter. There, he witnesses the atrocities that the locals endure at the hands of the vicious Lord’s Resistance Army. Villages are razed to the ground, women are raped and children are kidnapped and forced to serve as child soldiers. Horrified by what he sees, Childers becomes an avenging angel set on protecting the innocent. Inspired to create a safe haven for the multitudes fleeing enslavement he restores peace to their lives and, eventually, his own.

Werewolves. I'm not holding out much for the quality apart from it will be funny. Sometimes this will be unintentionally.

This is the sort of film I love, cheap and probably, unintentionally bad.

When werewolf chief Mickey is accidentally killed in a strip club the girls who work there have until the next full moon before his bloodthirsty wolfpack seek murderous retribution...

Sixteen-year-old Jamie longs for an escape from the violence and hopelessness that surrounds him in Adelaide's disenfranchised northern suburbs, and his salvation arrives in the form of John, a charismatic man who unexpectedly comes to his aid. As John spends more and more time with Jamie’s family, he moves from the role of Jamie’s protector to that of a mentor, indoctrinating Jamie into his world, a world brimming with bigotry, righteousness and malice.

Like a son mimicking his father, Jamie soon begins to take on some of John’s traits and beliefs as he spends more and more time with him and his select group of friends. The protection and guidance that John presents to Jamie is initially welcomed however as events occur around him, including the disappearance of several people, Jamie begins to harbour deep suspicions about John and his motivations.
