You Instead, the indie rom com filmed at last year’s T in the Park, is returning to the festival one year later for an exclusive, first-of-its-kind, people’s premiere in the festival’s campsite.

Revellers arriving onsite on Thursday (7th July) will be treated to an exclusive one-off screening at 9pm in the campsite cinema in Sunset Strip ahead of the movie’s national cinema release in September 2011.
You Instead is a free-wheeling, rock ‘n’ roll comedy set against an unforgettable lost weekend at a music festival; filled with lust, betrayal, and a hundred thousand people partying to the greatest music in the world. The film, which is tipped to be one of this year’s hottest independent films, will no doubt get festival-goers hyped up for the weekend ahead which will feature music from Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, The Strokes, Beyoncé and Pulp to name a few.

Luke Treadaway (Brothers of the Head, Clash of the Titans) stars as strutting indie star Adam, one half of globally successful duo The Make . Arriving at T in the Park for his latest gig, Adam finds himself accidentally handcuffed to Morello, played by Natalia Tena (Mrs. Henderson Presents, Harry Potter ), lead singer for all girl punk band The Dirty Pinks. With no key in sight, the feuding pair must get through the weekend as best they can, delivering not one but two performances whilst having to placate a jealous girlfriend, an angry boyfriend and a lunatic manager; all in a weekend they will never forget.
The film was shot in July 2010 at T in the Park in Kinross-shire, Scotland. Cast, crew and extras all stayed onsite for the entire duration of filming, camping in a backstage enclosure.

The film’s Director, David Mackenzie (Perfect Sense, Hallam Foe, Young Adam), comments:“After shooting the film entirely at last year’s T in the Park, it was only natural that we brought it back to where it was born, one year on. The fans – as well as the festival - are what made the project, so I’m delighted they will get to see the finished film before anyone else!”

Geoff Ellis, Festival Director of T in the Park, adds: “We’re really thrilled that we’re able to share You Instead exclusively with fans at this year’s T in the Park, just one year after it was filmed at the festival.

“The film really captures the spirit of what T in the Park is about, and we can’t wait to get our 18th year underway with this exciting preview screening.”

All T in the Park festival-goers can be amongst the first people in the country to see You Instead in the festival campsite at 10pm on Thursday, 7th July. Follow You Instead on Facebook at To keep up-to-date with the latest T in the Park info and for regular updates from the T Lady, go to
