Throughout history, tales of chivalry have burnished the legends of brave, handsome knights who rescue fair damsels, slay dragons and conquer evil. But behind many a hero is a good-for-nothing younger brother trying just to stay out of the way of those dragons, evil and trouble in general. Danny McBride and James Franco team up for an epic comedy adventure set in a fantastical world.

As two princes on a daring mission to save their land, they must rescue the heir apparent's fiancée before their kingdom is destroyed. Thadeous (McBride) has spent his life watching his perfect older brother Fabious (Franco) embark upon valiant journeys and win the hearts of his people. Tired of being passed over for adventure, adoration and the throne, he's settled for a life of wizard's weed, hard booze and easy maidens. But when Fabious' bride-to-be, Belladonna (Zooey Deschanel), gets kidnapped by the evil wizard Leezar (Justin Theroux) the king gives his deadbeat son an ultimatum: Man up and help rescue her or get cut off. Half-assedly embarking upon his first quest, Thadeous joins Fabious to trek across the perilous outlands and free the princess. Joined by Isabel (Natalie Portman)-an elusive warrior with a dangerous agenda of her own-the brothers must vanquish horrific creatures and traitorous knights before they can reach Belladonna. If Thadeous can find his inner hero, he can help his brother prevent the destruction of his land. Stay a slacker, and not only does he die a coward, he gets front row seats to the dawn of an all-new Dark Ages.

Roach Scare for Lara Dutta

This is an occasional feature of this blog, Bollywood. This time it's another piece for Chalo Dilli. The distributor, Eros International, has sent over this piece about the fun and games that the film's crew got up to when they found out that Lara Dutta isn't the biggest fan of creepy crawlers. In this case it's cockroaches. Also they have sent over two great stills from the film that can be found just after the story.

Guess what Lara Dutta fears the most! No... its not the daredevil stunts or highly dramatic emotional scenes... it is cockroaches. "Even the sight of a cockroach sends shivers down her spine."

So imagine Lara's horror when she had to do a scene with a cockroach for her maiden venture Chalo Dilli. "Lara was petrified," said our source.

The situation got worse when a unit member played a prank on her. "A crew member threw a plastic cockroach on her. And Lara, who otherwise is strong and controlled, got so scared that she practically jumped and ran helter-skelter screaming on top of her lungs. It was a side of Lara we had never seen before. " laughed our source.

Produced by Eros International in association with Big Daddy Productions (owned by Globosport) & Bheegi Basanti production, the brings together Lara Dutta and Vinay Pathak for the first time in this light hearted and frothy venture.

Killing Bono

Somehow I have missed the publicity eMails for this film that's out in cinemas Today, April 1, 2011. so to make up for it here is a couple of clips, the trailer, poster and some images. I blame gMail's spam filtering playing silly beggers with me!

Clip - Hype Scene

Clip - Bus Scene

KILLING BONO is a rock n’ roll comedy about two Irish brothers struggling to forge their path through the 1980’s music scene… whilst the meteoric rise to fame of their old school pals U2 only serves to cast them deeper into the shadows.

Neil McCormick always knew he’d be famous. A young Irish songwriter and budding genius, nothing less than a life of rock n’ roll stardom will do. But there’s only room for one singer in school band The Hype and his friend Paul’s already bagged the job. So Neil forms his own band with his brother Ivan, determined to leave The Hype in his wake. There’s only one problem: The Hype have changed their name. To ‘U2’. And Paul has turned into ‘Bono’.

Naturally there’s only one option for Neil: become bigger than U2. The brothers head to London in their quest for fame, but they are blighted by the injustices of the music industry, and their every action is dwarfed by the soaring success of their old school rivals. Then, just as they land some success of their own, Ivan discovers the shocking truth behind Neil’s rivalry with U2, and it threatens to destroy everything.

As his rock n’ roll dream crashes and burns, Neil feels like his failure is directly linked to Bono’s success. Is he the yin to Bono’s yang? Is he forever destined to live in the shadows of superstardom? And what if the answer lies in… killing Bono?
