Thunderbolt and Lightfoot Blur-ray Short Review

talcover5 Star Bank Robbing Comedy.

From the writer (Michael Cimino, Deer Hunter) that gave us first Silent Running then Magnum Force comes his directional debut, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot.
talpreacherHe brings us a tale of bungled heists and the resolve of the robbers and the bright ideas of the young.
7 years ago a daring robbery took place, where an antitank gun was used to gain entry to the vault and remove a massive haul.

Now it's time for to collect the hidden stash, Thunderbolt, (Clint Eastwood, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Unforgiven, Gan Torino), now preaching in a small church in the middle of nowhere.
The saying "honour amongst thieves" does not apply here as his partners in crime have finally tracked him down, thinking that he has double crossed them.

Camp Dread is written and directed by Harrison Smith (The Fields, 6 Degrees of Hell) and tells the story of Dead.tv, a reality TV show, the auditions for which form the opening credits of the film.
Julian Barrett (Eric Roberts - The Dark Knight, The Expendables) is a washed up horror film writer and director, who had a series of hit films in the 1980's called Summer Camp.
Camp Dread Julian and RachelWith his career all but over, Julian comes up with a cunning plan, to re-unite the team from the original franchise to produce a reality TV show made on the original set of the Summer Camp films. Rachel Steele (Felissa Rose - Sleepaway Camp, Satan's Playground), the killer from the original films, now a trained shrink and John Hill (Brian Gallagher - Miss December, Who Is Jose Luck?) turn up in readiness to meet the contestants. Why on earth they would agree to do that I have no idea, as they clearly all hate each other, but hey, lets go along with it for now.

Porky's Blu-ray Short Review

4 stars of naughty eighties campus shenanigans.Porky's cover
Originally released in 1982, Porky's is written and directed by Bob Clarke (A Christmas Story, Baby Geniuses), a cult classic which was arguably the fore-runner of films like American Pie and The Hangover.
Set in 1954, Porky's tells the story of a group of college students, intent on helping their unfortunate friend Pee Wee (Dan Monahan - The Night Flier, Baby Geniuses) who is trying desperately to get himself laid.
Porky's peepholesPee Wee and his friends are engaged in an ongoing battle with their teachers, coaches, other students on campus and the world in general. One of their favourite pastimes is to hide behind the shower heads in the wall of the ladies locker room, so that they can can watch the action.
Of course, they eventually get caught, when Balbricker (Nancy Parsons - Sudden Impact, Steel Magnolias) the ladies sports coach, manages to capture Tommy (Wyatt Knight - Porky's II, The Next Day) by the "tally-whacker", Porky's Balbrickerleading to one of the funniest scenes I have ever seen as she tries to explain to the head master, with the other two male coaches laughing their socks off in the background.
Along side all of this are the constant attempts by Coach Brackett (Boyd Gaines - Fame, Funny Games) to find out why every body refers to ladies coach Honeywell (Kim Cattrall - Sex and The City, Big Trouble In Little China) as "Lassie".

Nashville Dual Format Release Short Review

nashcover4 Stars of life in Nashville 1975 style.
From the mighty director Robert Altman, (The Long Goodbye, Mash, Gosford Park) comes the tale of five days in the heart of country music, Nashville.
Where those who aspire to be famous in the Grand Ole Opera must travel to and those that already have it must maintain it.
nashhenrySet at the time when the Vietnam War is still in the minds of all America and with the strong overtones of a new governmental election campaign (Hal Philip Walker), we see a van with megaphones and the unseen speaker giving a speech for the "Replacement Party". As Country singing star Henry Gibson (Haven Hamilton, Blues Brothers) tries to lay down his latest single in the recording studio, he is never quite satisfied with other peoples efforts.
nashbarbaraThe people in the background like Delbert Reese, (Ned Beatty, Deliverance) are trying to hold it all together, as the stars are flaky, as is Barbara Jean. (Ronee Blakley, The Driver) She's a massive star but she isn't functioning quite right, her body as frail as her mind. Delbert's wife Linnea spends her time teaching her two young children sign language and avoiding the young handsome Tom (Keith Caradine, The Long Riders), who repeatedly phones her and tries to get her to meet him.

Bleach Series 13 Part 2 Short Review

5 stars of ongoing hostilities between Soul Society and the Arrancar.Bleach 13 2 Cover
Bleach Series 13 Part 2 carries on Fall Of The Arrancar and is set during the Fake Karakura Town arc (See Bleach Series 13 Part 1)
After the shock arrival of Wonderweiss and his revelations that the Espada are in fact still alive, the captains of the Thirteen Court Guard Squads must now also come to terms with the other new arrivals on the battlefield, the Visoreds.
Bleach 13 2 The VisoredsThis unfortunate group were all originally members of the Gotei 13, who fell prey to Aizen's hollowfication experiments one hundred years previously. Happily for the good guys, this puts them on their side, as the battle recommences with the Visoreds looking to take out their former Lieutenant, Aizen and his associates, the Espada.
Bleach 13 2 Coyote StarkkLisa and Hiyori step up to assist Hitsugaya in his battle with Tier Harribel, Love and Rose take on Coyote Starrk and Lilynette, and Hachigen enters the battle against Baraggan (the self-proclaimed king of Hueco Mundo) with Suì-Fēng and Ōmaeda.
As the battles heat  up and everyone is forced to start using their "big guns", it becomes apparent that, not only are Aizen's allies not as fond of him as previously thought, but also that he holds little or no respect or feelings for them in return.
